The beloved characters from Rovio’s popular game, Angry Birds, will now be venturing into a galaxy far, far away. The Angry Birds game makers announced that next instalment of the franchise ‘Angry Birds Star Wars’ will be released November 8 on multiple platforms. The widely anticipated game is “The best Angry Birds game we’ve ever done. It’s the best parts of Angry Birds with all new cutting-edge gameplay set in in a galaxy far, far away,” according the Rovio’s chief marketing officer, Peter Vesterbacka. Fans of the game and of the iconic films are ecstatic of the collaboration.

Many fans already know the Angry Birds have already explored space in the previous iteration Angry Birds Space, but Angry Birds Star Wars will launch the game into a whole different universe completely regardless of the space theme. Favorite Angry Bird characters will be transformed and recast as Star Wars characters like Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca and Han Solo. The hungry green pigs will play the roles of stormtroopers and of course Darth Vader. There is even a Death Star, which appears in the shape of the main antagonist, the Pig. There will also be familiar worlds from the Star Wars universe, including Hoth and the ever popular Tatoonie.

Players will be able to sling the Angry Birds to break down structure and defeat the hungry green pigs, an aspect that made the game what it is today. There will also be additional elements, like giving the birds lightsabers to cut down their enemies while flying through the air. Other weaponry or addons have not yet been announced.

In addition to the launch of the game, Rovio has also collaborated with Hasbro to launch a line of products at the beginning to November. Products will include costumes, plush toys, actions figures and other apparel. Hasbro chief marketing officer John Frascotti, states that the new products being launched will give fans new ways to play and connect with the Angry Birds and Star Wars franchises.

This game will be available for Android, iOS, the Amazon Kindle Fire, MAC, PC, Windows Phone and Windows 8. Fans who wish to keep themselves busy can for now download the Bad Piggies, the latest installment released in September.
